Tofino is like a tropical island crossed with mountainous wilderness. It’s got a slight Byron Bay vibe, but with Canadian hospitality and that peaceful, sleepy tranquility you somehow always seem to get in a little coastal town.
Being out on the beach, the day’s leftover light was almost blinding: reflecting and bouncing off every grain of sand, every surface. Tofino’s famous fog was coating the ground, creating this whimsical effect where the headlands look like layers ordered from darkest to lightest.
This project sought to capture this essence and the interaction between land and locals: a smokey landscape that almost swallows those who found themselves in it.
